Is Profhilo the Best for My Skin?
If your skin’s been feeling dull, tired, or just not as firm and glowy as it used to be, you might be wondering if there’s something that can help—without going down the filler route. That’s where Profhilo comes in.
It’s one of my favourite treatments to use in clinic, especially for women who want natural results—no drastic change, just fresher, healthier skin that looks like you’ve had a great night’s sleep (and a facial, and a holiday!).
So let me walk you through what Profhilo is, how it works, and whether it’s the right skin booster for you.
What Is Profhilo?
Profhilo is an injectable treatment made with pure hyaluronic acid (HA)—but it’s not like filler. It doesn’t add volume or structure. Instead, it spreads evenly under the skin to hydrate and trigger your body to produce more collagen and elastin.
Think of it as a deep skin booster that improves the quality, bounce, and glow of your skin from within.
How Does Profhilo Work?
Profhilo is injected into five key points on each side of the face (or into other areas like the neck or hands). Once in the skin, it spreads and starts working by:
- Deeply hydrating the skin
- Improving skin firmness and elasticity
- Stimulating natural collagen and elastin production
It gives that soft, plump, smooth look we often associate with youthful, well-cared-for skin.
What Areas Can Be Treated?
Profhilo is really versatile, and I often use it on:
- The face
- Neck (great for crepey skin)
- Décolletage
- Hands
- Arms and elbows (if there’s looseness or texture)
What Results Can You Expect?
Most clients notice:
- Firmer, tighter skin
- Improved skin texture and hydration
- Softer appearance of fine lines and crepiness
- A natural, healthy glow
Clinical studies have shown that Profhilo improves skin quality after just two treatments, spaced four weeks apart. Results continue to build for up to 8 weeks after the second session.
I usually recommend two initial treatments, then a top-up every six months to maintain results.
Is Profhilo Right for You?
I find Profhilo works brilliantly for clients who:
- Are noticing signs of ageing in their 30s, 40s, 50s or beyond
- Have dull, dry, or crepey skin
- Want a natural glow without the volume or look of filler
- Prefer low-maintenance, subtle enhancements
If you’re pregnant, breastfeeding, or allergic to hyaluronic acid, this treatment isn’t suitable—but I’ll always go through all of that during our consultation.
Profhilo vs. Dermal Fillers: What’s the Difference?
Clients often ask me the difference between the two—and here’s the simple version:
Fillers add volume and structure. Profhilo improves skin quality.
So if you’re not looking to change your face but want to improve how your skin looks and feels, Profhilo is an ideal option. It also pairs beautifully with microneedling, LED light therapy</strong, or radiofrequency skin tightening—for even better results.
Is There Any Downtime?
Downtime is minimal. You might see tiny raised areas at the injection points for 12–24 hours (they usually settle quickly). Some mild redness or tenderness is normal but tends to go away within a day.
Most of my clients go straight back to work or get on with their day as usual.
Why Choose Me for Profhilo?
I’ve been helping women transform their skin for over two decades—and I believe in results that look natural, feel amazing, and support long-term skin health. I don’t over-treat or over-promise. I’ll give you honest guidance based on your goals and what your skin really needs.
Profhilo is one of the few treatments I use personally and recommend for anyone wanting skin that looks radiant and alive again.
